#EdTechTeacherChallenge August 2020: Bitmoji Classroom, Day 1

Today's challenge is simple. Download the Bitmoji app onto your phone and set up YOUR Bitmoji avatar. To do this, open your app store and search "Bitmoji". You should see this icon:

You can also go to the Bitmoji website (https://www.bitmoji.com/) and click on these links:

(This is not a link.) App store buttons for reference

Once you have the app downloaded on your mobile device, you will need to create an account using your email or sign in with Snapchat. If you click on the "Sign Up with Email", you will be prompted for your birthday. This is to make sure the app complies with child information protection laws known as FERPA, COPA, IDEA, etc. After you put in your birthday, you will be asked to put in your email and a password. You will then be asked to choose a female or male looking image. Once you click on the image, you will be asked to take a selfie. Click continue, fit your face in the circle and click the camera button. The app will give you three options to start. Choose the one you think matches best. You can always change it later. You can skip the selfie part, but the using the selfie bypasses all the facial feature options and saves you some time. Next, the app will walk you through all the customization options (skin tone, hair color, hair style, hair treatment, eye shape, eyelashes, eye size, eye spacing, eye color, eyebrows, eyebrow color, nose, glasses, jaw, face shape, mouth, ears, cheek lines, forehead lines, eye lines, eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, headwear, body type, chest size, outfit (designer or mix and match tops, bottoms, shoes, etc.) Once you get your Bitmoji the way you want it, be sure to hit the "Save" button at the top. My app then says "Your Keyboard is Set Up" and has a button that says "Try it in iMessage" (I have an iPhone.)

Go ahead! Send a text message with your Bitmoji.

Peace, Love and Happiness Always!
